Get your hair through summer — sun, salt, and chlorine.
A summer shampoo with hair-protecting UV filters.
Sun Protector Hair Wash washes out pool chlorine and sea salt while its UV filters help shield hair from sun-related color fade and protein damage — so hair comes through the season softer, shinier, and healthier-looking.
"This is what I send clients home with for the summer — especially swimmers. It clears the chlorine and salt that wreck hair, and the UV filters help keep color from cooking in the sun. Their hair looks so much better by August."
Summer is hard on hair. Sun fades color and roughens the surface, pool chlorine strips and weakens it, and sea salt pulls out moisture and leaves it dry and tangled.
Sun Protector Hair Wash is a summer shampoo built for all three: it washes out chlorine and salt while its UV filters help shield hair from sun-related color fade and protein damage — so hair comes through the season softer, shinier, and healthier-looking.
What summer actually does to hair
Three things gang up on hair in summer. UV light fades color and breaks down keratin protein, so hair looks dull and feels brittle. Pool chlorine oxidizes and weakens the protein bonds that give hair strength — and can turn blonde slightly green. Sea salt draws moisture out of the shaft and lifts the cuticle, leaving hair dry and tangled. This wash clears the salt and chlorine off the hair and adds UV filters that help protect against the sun's share of that damage.
Inside the formula
UV Filters
Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Benzophenone-3, and Homosalate absorb and filter UV on the hair fiber, helping protect hair color and strength from sun exposure. (For hair — not a skin sunscreen.)
Salt & Chlorine Cleanse
A cleansing base that washes out pool chlorine and sea salt residue — the buildup that dries, roughens, and dulls hair after swimming.
Hydrolyzed Collagen
Coats and smooths the cuticle to help hair feel stronger, softer, and silkier after cleansing.
Lactic Acid
Keeps the wash at a mildly acidic, scalp-friendly pH that helps the cuticle lie flat.
Softness, Shine & Body
Leaves summer hair feeling silky and looking glossy, with more body — countering the dryness sun and water cause.

Become a certified centerCommon questions
Is this a sunscreen?
No. It's a hair wash with UV filters that help protect the hair fiber from sun-related color fade and protein damage. It does not have an SPF and does not protect your skin — for skin, always use a dedicated SPF sunscreen.
What does it actually do?
Two things: it washes out the pool chlorine and sea salt that dry and dull hair after swimming, and its UV filters help shield hair color and strength from the sun.
Who is it for?
Anyone whose hair takes a beating in summer — swimmers, beach-goers, and anyone spending long days in the sun. It's especially useful for color-treated hair, which fades faster in sun and chlorine.
Can I use it every day?
It's a clarifying-style wash, so it's great after swimming and through the summer. If your hair tends to be dry, follow with a conditioner or mask to replenish moisture.
Will it stop my blonde from turning green in the pool?
By washing chlorine out promptly it helps reduce the buildup that causes that greenish tinge. For heavy pool use, rinse hair with clean water before swimming and wash soon after.
Does it contain sulfates?
Yes — it's a clarifying wash built to clear salt and chlorine, so it does contain sulfates. If you prefer, follow with a rich conditioner to keep hair soft.
