Three Structural Reasons
Nothing Seems to Work
A 2025 peer-reviewed network meta-analysis of scalp psoriasis randomized controlled trials confirmed the condition "is often resistant to topical and conventional systemic agents," and that there is no consensus gold standard treatment.
Hair blocks what you put on it
Everything applied to the scalp has to get through hair before it reaches the skin — and surface scale adds another barrier on top. That's why KS115 comes first. It softens and lifts the buildup so what follows can actually land, instead of sitting on top of the scale.
The oil environment works against you
The scalp is the most sebum-rich zone on the body. That's an environment where buildup re-establishes quickly and the scalp tips out of balance — which is why the Phase 2 tonics matter as much as the Phase 1 intensives.
Surface-only doesn't cover the whole picture
The peer-reviewed literature on chronic inflammatory scalp conditions consistently identifies systemic factors — nutritional status, liver function, gut health — as relevant to the scalp environment. That's a conversation to have with your physician. It's also why this system includes nutritional support rather than pretending the scalp is the whole story.
Flares Aren't Random
Research consistently identifies these as documented contributing factors:
- Stress — the most commonly reported trigger; cortisol is documented to influence inflammatory pathways
- Streptococcal infections — strep throat is a documented environmental trigger in the clinical literature
- Vitamin D insufficiency — a documented factor in immune regulation and skin health
- Alcohol — dose-dependent association with flare frequency in clinical research
- Harsh hair care products — sulfates, chemical treatments, and mechanical trauma at the follicle site
- Cold, dry weather — reduces scalp moisture and amplifies sensitivity
Your scalp doesn't exist in isolation from the rest of you. That's why the system includes nutritional support — for the whole picture, not just the surface.
10 Components
8 Topical · 2 Internal
Dandruff Hair Wash
A purifying cleanser built with salicylic acid and PEG-6 Undecylenate, plus urea and botanical extracts of fucus (bladderwrack seaweed) and rosemary. Lifts away visible flakes and excess oil, clearing the follicle opening so the steps that follow can reach the scalp. Doesn't alter the acid mantle.
Dry Scalp Wash
Once the scale has settled, dryness is what's left. A gentler cleanser with hydrolyzed collagen and Vitamin E that cleanses without stripping — for scalps that feel tight and hair that's lost its softness. Restores comfort without disrupting the acid mantle.
KS115 Tonic
The step everything else depends on. A clarifying leave-on tonic — willow bark, birch bark and leaf, cade juniper wood oil, sulfur, salicylic acid and glycerin. Eight ingredients, each purposeful. It helps soften and lift thick surface scale so the actives applied after it reach the scalp instead of sitting on the buildup. No warming response — there's no Methyl Nicotinate in it.
Ampoule N
A concentrated purifying lotion built around burdock, arnica and rosemary — with salicylic acid for surface clarification, sulfur for scalp balance, potassium iodide, and a fresh eucalyptus note. Applied to a towel-dried scalp after washing and left in. A light warming or tingling may be felt; that's normal.
Oil K1
A genuinely botanical oil blend — wheat germ, sunflower and rosehip oils with rosemary, fenugreek and a natural lemon peel scent. For scalp that feels dry, tight, sensitive or depleted. Restores softness and suppleness while calming how the skin feels, and absorbs without a heavy greasy residue. No Methyl Nicotinate — no warming response.
Base Tonic
The botanical nutrition step. A light, fully-absorbed leave-on with soy, arnica, watercress, white nettle, willow bark and rosemary. Moves from a supporting role in Phase 1 to a primary maintenance tool in Phase 2.
Fungi Activ
A clarifying, refreshing tonic built around rosemary and fucus (bladderwrack seaweed), with PEG-6 Undecylenate, salicylic acid, urea, potassium iodide and a cooling menthol finish. Used daily in Phase 2 once buildup has visibly cleared, to keep the scalp feeling clean and balanced.
Special K Cream
The recovery moisturizer. Hydrolyzed collagen for suppleness, squalane — a skin-identical lipid — for deep hydration without greasiness, and three concentrated oil unsaponifiables (olive, soy, avocado) delivering the phytosterol and tocopherol fractions of those plant oils. Witch hazel and bisabolol for immediate comfort. Seals in the botanicals applied before it.
Kapydetox (formerly dePure)
Five traditional botanicals led by Green Nettle — the largest ingredient in every dose at 689.5 mg — with dandelion, boldo, fumitory and peppermint. Nettle is rich in polyphenols and antioxidants. Two tablets in the morning, two later in the day.
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for those with kidney, liver or heart conditions, or allergy to any component.

Revital
Two of nature's richest sources of GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) — Evening Primrose Oil (500 mg, providing 50 mg GLA) and Borage Oil (500 mg, providing 100 mg GLA) — with natural Vitamin E. GLA is an essential omega-6 fatty acid your body cannot produce on its own; your skin uses it as a building block for its natural barrier, softness and hydration. 150 mg GLA per daily dose. Natural Vitamin E (111% NRV) contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Take with a meal — lunch is ideal.

Built With These
People in Mind
- People with chronic scalp conditions involving scale buildup, persistent itch, and scalp sensitivity
- People who have found coal tar shampoos insufficient or intolerable — the odor, the hair discoloration, the stripping
- People who prefer a plant-based approach and want to explore alternatives to conventional topicals — always in consultation with their physician
- People using conventional or pharmaceutical treatments who want a complementary plant-based topical system to use alongside their prescribed care
- People who want to support their scalp from both the outside and the inside at the same time
- People with natural, coily, or textured hair who find shampoo-based medicated routines incompatible with how they actually wear their hair — the oil-based components work with natural hair, not against it
- People with darker skin tones, where chronic scalp conditions may present as purple, violet or dark brown rather than red — the system supports the scalp regardless of how it presents visually
Before You Start
Can I use this alongside my prescription treatment?
That's a question for your prescribing physician — please ask them before adding anything, including the Kapydetox and Revital supplements, to your treatment plan. This is a plant-based cosmetic and supplement system with no pharmaceutical compounds, but your doctor knows your history and your medications. Never stop or reduce a prescribed treatment on your own.
How does this compare to coal tar shampoos?
Coal tar shampoos slow cell turnover and reduce flaking — recognized for mild maintenance, but single-mechanism, surface-only, and associated with real compliance problems: strong odor, potential lightening of hair color, scalp stripping. This system adds a clarifying tonic step for surface scale (KS115), soothing botanicals (Oil K1 + Ampoule N), scalp-balancing tonics (Fungi Activ + Base Tonic), barrier support (Special K Cream), and internal nutritional support (Kapydetox + Revital).
Will I need to continue long term?
Chronic scalp conditions are long-term conditions. There is no permanent resolution at the cosmetic or supplement level — this system is not a cure, and anyone telling you otherwise isn't being straight with you. Phase 2 exists to support a balanced scalp environment on an ongoing basis, and many people stay on it indefinitely. If your condition worsens or doesn't respond as expected, see a dermatologist.
How long is Phase 1?
It depends entirely on you — how heavy the buildup is, how long it's been there, and how consistent you are. You move to Phase 2 when your scalp tells you it's ready, not on a calendar.
Why do some products make my scalp feel warm?
Ampoule N and Fungi Activ can produce a warm or tingling feeling — that's expected. Fungi Activ contains Methyl Nicotinate, which works at the surface. KS115 and Oil K1 contain no Methyl Nicotinate and produce no warming. If anything feels uncomfortable rather than warm, use less or stop and speak to your specialist. Don't apply to broken skin.
Is everything plant-based?
The formulas are plant-based and EU-regulated, with two exceptions worth naming honestly: Fungi Activ contains Methyl Nicotinate and Diethyl Phthalate, both synthetic. Oil K1 and Base Tonic are genuinely botanical. We'd rather tell you than have you find it on an ingredient list.
Should anyone avoid parts of this?
Kapydetox is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for anyone with kidney, liver or heart conditions, or an allergy to any component. Base Tonic contains soy — if you're pregnant or have a hormone-sensitive condition, check with your physician first. Special K Cream contains pollen extract and several fragrance components; patch-test if your skin is reactive. Don't apply the leave-on tonics to broken skin or scalp wounds.
