Balancing botanical oil for oily, combination and sensitive skin.
Wheat germ · sunflower · rosehip · rosemary · lemon — for oily and combination skin
K2 is a leave-on botanical oil blend from Kapyderm's Dermotricology line — the same wheat germ, sunflower and rosehip oil base as K1, calibrated for oily, combination and easily-congested skin and scalp. Non-greasy. No warming response.
"Oily skin still needs nourishment — it just needs it delivered in a formula calibrated to balance rather than add richness. K2 is that formula — the same plant oil base as K1, adjusted for oily and combination skin types."
Oily skin is not well-hydrated skin — it is skin where the sebaceous glands are overactive, often because the skin's moisture barrier has been disrupted. It still needs nourishment. Just not more oil to sit on the surface.
K2 is a leave-on botanical oil blend from Kapyderm's Dermotricology line — the sister product to K1, formulated for oily, combination and easily-congested skin and scalp. Its base is the same three plant oils as K1 — Triticum Vulgare (wheat germ) oil, Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) seed oil, and Rosa Moschata (rosehip) seed oil — with Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary), Citrus Limon (lemon) peel oil, and Trigonella Foenum-Graecum (fenugreek). The difference from K1 lies in the formulation balance — K2 is calibrated to deliver the botanical nourishment that even oily skin needs, in a light, fully-absorbed finish that does not add to congestion. No Methyl Nicotinate — no warming response.
K1 vs K2 — choosing the right oil for your skin type
K1 and K2 share the same plant oil base — wheat germ, sunflower and rosehip — and the same botanical actives. The difference is the formulation balance: K1 is calibrated for normal to dry, sensitive, tight or depleted skin — prioritizing deep nourishment and comfort. K2 is calibrated for oily, combination or congested skin — delivering the botanical nourishment the skin still needs in a lighter, more balancing formulation. Your certified Dermotricology Technician will confirm the right choice based on your scalp and skin assessment.
Inside the formula
Wheat Germ Oil (Triticum Vulgare)
A rich source of Vitamin E and essential fatty acids — nourishes even oily skin by supporting the moisture barrier rather than adding surface oil. Penetrates to deliver fatty acid nutrition where the skin needs it.
Sunflower Oil (Helianthus Annuus)
A light, easily-absorbed carrier oil that delivers the formula's actives without the heavy, greasy feel that would make oily skin feel worse. High linoleic acid content — beneficial for oily and combination skin barrier support.
Rosehip Oil (Rosa Moschata)
Rosa moschata seed oil — rich in linoleic and alpha-linolenic acid, both of which are frequently depleted in oily, acne-prone and combination skin. Supports barrier function without clogging or congesting.
Rosemary · Lemon Peel · Fenugreek
Rosmarinus officinalis for scalp care, Citrus limon peel oil for the natural botanical scent, Trigonella foenum-graecum (fenugreek) for its traditional nourishing and conditioning properties in oily skin formulations.

What is K2?
K2 is a leave-on botanical oil blend from Kapyderm's Dermotricology line — wheat germ, sunflower and rosehip oils with rosemary, lemon peel and fenugreek — formulated for oily, combination and easily-congested skin and scalp. The balancing botanical oil step in the Dermotricology protocol for oily skin and scalp conditions.
What is the difference between K1 and K2?
K1 and K2 share the same plant oil base — wheat germ, sunflower and rosehip — and the same botanical actives. K1 is calibrated for normal to dry, sensitive or depleted skin and scalp — prioritizing deep nourishment. K2 is calibrated for oily, combination or congested skin and scalp — delivering the same botanical nourishment in a lighter, more balancing formulation. Your certified Technician will confirm the right choice based on your skin assessment.
Does oily skin need a botanical oil?
Yes — oily skin is frequently lacking in specific essential fatty acids (particularly linoleic acid) even when producing excess sebum. The plant oils in K2 — sunflower, rosehip, wheat germ — are rich in the essential fatty acids that support barrier function without adding to surface oiliness or congestion. Sunflower oil in particular has a high linoleic acid content that is beneficial for oily and combination skin types.
Will I feel a warming or tingling sensation?
No — K2 does not contain Methyl Nicotinate. There is no warming or tingling response. It is suitable for sensitive, combination and reactive skin where that response is not appropriate.
How do I use it?
Apply directly to the skin or scalp area. Massage gently in circular motions until fully absorbed. Do not rinse. Use as needed or as advised by your specialist.
What sizes does it come in?
30cc and 110cc. The 30cc for targeted application; the 110cc for full skin and scalp coverage in home protocols.
