Alogenic Tonic | Advanced Follicular Activator & Hair Recovery

from $60.99

A botanical scalp tonic for thinning-prone and fragile hair.

Alogenic Tonic is a leave-on scalp tonic from Kapyderm's Dermotricology line —

formulated for scalps and hair focused on density, strength and follicle health.

Built around seven botanicals — soy, ivy, watercress, white nettle, willow bark,

arnica and rosemary — with panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), salicylic acid, sulfur,

potassium iodide, eucalyptol, and Methyl Nicotinate. The active, specialized

scalp tonic of the Dermotricology line.

What it does

Delivers concentrated botanical nourishment and microcirculation activation to

the scalp. Ivy (Hedera helix) and stinging nettle support follicle environment

balance. Panthenol delivers B5 nutrition to the scalp tissue. Salicylic acid

clarifies the follicle opening. Eucalyptol, sulfur and potassium iodide

contribute to the formula's scalp-balancing action. Methyl Nicotinate activates

local microcirculation — the warming or temporary redness that follows is a

normal sign of this action. Tones and strengthens even where there is no visible

thinning.

Protocol use

Used as the active daily scalp tonic in Kapyderm's hair loss, diffuse thinning

and scalp maintenance protocols — applied after the cleansing base and before or

alongside ampoules. The Alogenic Tonic is the more active, scalp-specific

counterpart to the Base Tonic — it adds Methyl Nicotinate, sulfur, potassium

iodide, eucalyptol and ivy to the same foundational botanical base. Used in

30cc for targeted application and 110cc for full scalp coverage.

How to use

Part the hair into sections to expose the scalp. Apply directly to the scalp,

distributing over the area. Massage gently with the fingertips in circular

motions until absorbed. A light warming or temporary redness may be felt — this

is normal and passes after a few minutes. Use as advised by your specialist.

Composition (INCI)

Alcohol Denat., Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Glycine Soja Seed Extract, Panthenol,

"This is the daily scalp tonic I recommend for anyone on a hair loss or thinning protocol — seven botanicals, panthenol, Methyl Nicotinate. The warming response tells you it's working. It's what holds the results between in-center sessions."

Between in-center sessions, the scalp needs a daily tonic that actively nourishes the follicle environment and maintains the conditions the protocol creates. A gentle leave-on is not enough — you need microcirculation activation alongside the botanical nourishment.

Alogenic Tonic is the active scalp tonic of Kapyderm's Dermotricology line — formulated for scalps and hair focused on density, strength and follicle health. It builds on the same foundational six-botanical base as the Base Tonic — Glycine Soja (soy), Arnica montana, Nasturtium officinale (watercress), Lamium album (white nettle), Salix alba (willow bark), Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) — and adds Hedera Helix (ivy) for follicle environment support, Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), Salicylic Acid for scalp clarification, Sulfur and Potassium Iodide for scalp balance, Eucalyptol for fresh penetration feel, and Methyl Nicotinate — the microcirculation activator that produces the characteristic warming response confirming active scalp penetration.

Alogenic Tonic vs Base Tonic — the active difference

Both tonics share the same foundational six-botanical base. Alogenic Tonic is the active, scalp-specific version — it adds ivy (Hedera helix), panthenol (B5), salicylic acid, sulfur, potassium iodide, eucalyptol, and Methyl Nicotinate. The Methyl Nicotinate is the key differentiator: it temporarily dilates scalp microvessels, producing the characteristic warming or temporary redness that confirms the botanical complex is penetrating the scalp tissue rather than sitting on the surface. Base Tonic does not contain Methyl Nicotinate and does not produce this response — it is the gentler, broader-application version.

Inside the formula

Follicle environment

Ivy (Hedera Helix)

Hedera helix leaf extract — ivy is the botanical that differentiates Alogenic Tonic from Base Tonic. Traditionally valued in scalp care for its toning and follicle environment support properties.

Active delivery

Methyl Nicotinate

A niacin derivative that temporarily dilates scalp microvessels — producing the characteristic warming or temporary redness that confirms active penetration. Drives the seven-botanical complex into the scalp tissue.

Scalp nutrition

Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5)

Converts to pantothenic acid in the scalp tissue — essential for fatty acid metabolism in the hair follicle. Supports scalp hydration and the penetration of subsequent active ingredients.

Scalp clarifying

Salicylic Acid

Helps clear the scalp surface — lifting any accumulation at the follicle opening that would otherwise block the botanical actives from reaching the tissue. The clarifying partner to the Methyl Nicotinate penetration step.

Scalp balance

Sulfur + Potassium Iodide

Sulfur for sebum-prone scalp balance; Potassium Iodide contributing to the formula's overall scalp-support action. Both add to the active profile that separates Alogenic Tonic from a simple botanical lotion.

Botanical foundation

Soy · Watercress · Arnica · White Nettle · Willow · Rosemary

The six-botanical foundation shared with Base Tonic — each delivering nourishment, toning, or scalp support — now activated and driven deeper by Methyl Nicotinate and supported by panthenol and salicylic acid.

Common questions

What is Alogenic Tonic?

Alogenic Tonic is the active scalp tonic of Kapyderm's Dermotricology line — formulated for scalps and hair focused on density, strength and follicle health. It combines seven botanicals (ivy, soy, watercress, white nettle, willow bark, arnica, rosemary) with panthenol (B5), salicylic acid, sulfur, potassium iodide, eucalyptol, and Methyl Nicotinate — the daily scalp tonic in the hair loss and thinning protocol.

What is the difference between Alogenic Tonic and Base Tonic?

Both share the same six-botanical foundation. Alogenic Tonic adds ivy (Hedera helix), panthenol, salicylic acid, sulfur, potassium iodide, eucalyptol, and Methyl Nicotinate — making it the active, scalp-specific version. The Methyl Nicotinate produces a warming or temporary redness confirming active scalp penetration. Base Tonic does not contain Methyl Nicotinate and is the gentler, broader-application version for skin and scalp.

What is the warming or temporary redness?

The warming sensation and temporary redness come from Methyl Nicotinate — a niacin derivative that temporarily dilates scalp microvessels, increasing local blood flow. This is a normal, expected, transient response that confirms the formula is actively penetrating the scalp. It passes after a few minutes. It is not an allergic reaction or irritation.

How do I use it?

Part the hair into sections to expose the scalp. Apply directly to the scalp and distribute over the area. Massage gently with the fingertips in circular motions until absorbed. Do not rinse. The warming or temporary redness is normal. Use as advised by your specialist.

Which size should I choose?

The 30cc is suited to targeted application on specific scalp areas. The 110cc is suited to full scalp coverage for daily home use in a complete hair loss or thinning protocol.

Does it contain parabens or sulfates?

No — Alogenic Tonic is paraben-free and sulfate-free. It contains Methyl Nicotinate — a warming or temporary redness is a normal expected response. The full INCI is listed on the product and above.
