Why organic peat works differently
Organic peat — mineral-rich, partially decomposed plant matter formed over thousands of years — is rich in humic acids, fulvic acids and trace minerals that give it a documented history in European dermatological spa practice for skin purification and exfoliation. Unlike synthetic exfoliants that work purely on the surface, the peat base provides a mineral-rich environment that draws out surface impurities during the 20-minute contact time. The salicylic acid and sulfur actively lift scale and buildup while the treatment is on — urea ensures skin stays soft and comfortable throughout. When emulsified and rinsed after 20 minutes, the result is a level of scalp or skin clarification that no leave-on product in the line delivers. A gentle warming or brief redness during the mask is a normal blood-flow response and settles after rinsing.

Mineral-rich herbaceous peat — partially decomposed plant matter rich in humic and fulvic acids and trace minerals. Salicylic Acid
A beta-hydroxy acid that decreases the adhesion between dead skin cells and lifts scale accumulation at the surface, with follicular penetration and documented anti-inflammatory action — working actively during the 20-minute mask to prepare the skin for the rinse step.Salicylic acid: decreases corneocyte cohesion, follicular penetration, anti-inflammatory. Sulfur + Potassium Iodide
Sulfur is both keratolytic and antimicrobial — it interacts with cysteine in keratinocytes and helps control the yeast involved in flaking, and its keratolytic effect is enhanced alongside salicylic acid. Urea
A natural moisturizing factor (NMF) component — humectant, keratolytic and barrier-supporting. Is any redness during treatment normal?
Yes — a transient warming or mild redness during the mask can be a normal response as microcirculation is stimulated, and it typically settles after rinsing. Because the mask contains potassium iodide, sulfur and salicylic acid at a low pH, it should be used under professional guidance. Avoid it if you have a known iodine allergy or a thyroid condition without checking with your doctor, and note that salicylic acid can increase sun sensitivity — protect treated skin from the sun.
